Bus Driver Finds Terrorism Is A Gas

SYDNEY, Australia (Reuters) — An Australian bus driver who called police after he found a package on his bus which emitted a strange sound when touched was left red-faced when it turned out to be a novelty store cushion.

Just two weeks ago Sydney, Australia's largest city, adopted a New York-style "If you see something, say something" counter-terrorism campaign urging people to report unattended bags or suspicious activity around public transport.

The driver found the package on the rear seat of his bus after completing his route around the Sydney beachside of Coogee on Sunday.

Fearing it could be an explosive device of some kind, he called the police."It was an unattended item, emitting a popping sound," a police spokesman said.

But when the police went in, they found out it was just a Whoopie Cushion.

In case you live on Mars, the Whoopie Cushion emulates the sound of...ahem...breaking wind — a chemical weapon used most extensively by teenage boys and participants of chili cookoffs.

Miraculous Whoopee Cushion Sighting

Following on in the vein of all things Whoopee it was our pleasure to read about a miraculous cushion today.

Apparantly a vision of the Blessed Virgin appeared on a whoopee cushion in the States at joke shop The Gag

We hold a Guinness World Record

Oh what a feeling. I woke up this morning holding a Guinness World Record.

Laura and Laura from Guinness World Records officially measure the cushion.

Everything almost went to plan.

Events Group put up a great marquee to protect the whoopee cushion from the vagaries of the weather.

Silverstone Circuit were really helpful and laid on tea and coffee and three beautiful racing cars including a Ferrari and a Porche all in lovely red to match Comic Relief.

Masses of people all dressed in red turned up to see the cushion and Dom and Carrie from the Chris Moyles Show

The Lauras from Guinness World Records arrived and measured the Whoopee Cushion at 184cm in diameter.

Anglia TV and Central TV filmed the event and so did Jon from ExposureTV on our behalf. How showbiz is that? Having our own camera man?

It was a pity that Dom and Carrie were a bit late due to traffic and lots of people had gone home and probably don't believe they ever actually arrived.

But they finally did and they sat on the cushion along with the Lauras from Guinness and Phil and I and it raspberried beautifully and we got the World Record.

Brilliant.

Then we handed over a cheque for £502.63 which goes to Comic Relief.

Weird Monday with Glamour Models

So following on from my Harry Hill Experience Monday was spent in an equally bizarre way.

Packing up my faithful family people carrier with all the things I could think of which would help my wondrous whoopee cushion look it's best I trundled down to The Smoke AKA London to meet up with Anneka Svenska for the photo call she had arranged.

I found myself in Tony and Guy's hairdressing salon in Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, with a covey of glamour models dressed in cropped Red Nose Day T-shirts and hot pants.

What struck me was how thoroughly nice they all were and how tiny! I mean they were really little, probably not more than 5' 5" and of course they had great figures with curves in all the right places.

They were Jodie Nichols, Tiffany, Anneka Svenska in the middle as Sally Swallows, Nikki Theobald and Charlene Hart.

Made me quite relieved I had not sent Phil down for this one.

Soon they were ready and photographers had turned up. We carried the cushion out onto the square and the girls started posing with Anneka who was dressed as her hideous alter ego Sally Swallows from her Edinburgh Fringe Show.

The Paparazzi were snapping away and a big crowd gathered full of dodgy looking old geezers wiping their greasy lenses and getting their own shots for later.

I thought to myself that the furthest I'd been from home recently was to Abingdon Street in Northampton for a spot of shopping at Primark. What am I doing here in this place with these glamour models and crowds of curious onlookers?

The one ray of sanity was Daniel from the Comic Relief office who I have been liaising with. He helps people who are doing stuff for Red Nose Day and coordinates events. He came down to see the cushion and to meet us and to be honest he was about the only sane person there.

Daniel looking bemused.

My kind of Nightmare

I was dancing on a stage with a horse and a giant badger in front of hundreds of people. I looked down to find I am dressed as a whoopee cushion but when I tried to talk to Phil (my other half) he had turned into Noddy Holder, complete with mad top hat and glitter covered platform boots.

Lord, if only it had been a dream. In fact it was a part of my strange reality.

Going to see Harry Hill (The Harry Hill Show, Harry Hill's TV Burp) at Milton Keynes Theatre ought to have been a regular night out, except the thing from the theatre said
"Fancy Dress".

What's a girl to do?

Needless to say we were the only ones in fancy dress and Harry was confused because we were meant to dress like him, not Slade front man, Noddy Holder and a Whoopee Cushion.

Our seats were in the second row and so naturally we got a bit of heckling from Mr Harry during his brilliant show and at the end we were amongst members of the audience invited up to join in the finale.

This is how my waking nightmare of dancing, dressed as a Whoopee Cushion, in front of hundreds of people with a giant badger, a horse, Harry Hill and Noddy Holder came about.

These strange events have only been happening since I gave birth to a giant whoopee cushion.

Good for Guinness and the rest.

Traditionally Guinness is good for you but we say Good for Guinness as they have kindly offered to send an adjudicator for free since our record attempt is in aid of Comic Relief.

This really is a Comic Relief as we had thought it was going to cost a lot of money and so could not afford to do this previously when the funds were meant for Red Nose Day.

And they aren't the only ones who have helped Comic Relief in relation to this record attempt.

We have had help with PR from Peter Jones from Red Alert Media
Silverstone Circuit have allowed us to use their place free and are providing tea and coffee for us. Expect to part with a donation for Red Nose Day when drinking a cup.

Anneka Svenska has been working really hard at sorting out a photoshoot with the cushion and we wish her well with her Edinburgh Show.

Also helping us out are Jarroy and FourDRubber as previously mentioned.
